During happy hour a must to visit if you are in the area!” Daniel W., November 2022 “In the middle of the day, hot as heck, tired & hungry, where to go where there was no wait, a view of the harbor, no feral chickens running around and did I mention sweet AC. Plus it was happy hour! We loved it. Family oriented, aloha staff and great food. My family will be back

Imagine Jack on vacation. There's nobody around to see him but Rhys, so he ditches all the constricting clothing and just goes nuts. Buffets, huge fruity drinks and desserts, BBQ roasts. I'm just imagining him sitting on the bar top with all the buttons burst off his Hawaiian shirt but one, bragging to everyone how much more he could eat.
(MMMM THIS IS REALLY FUCKING TASTY LETS GO 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤)
Rhys is honestly mesmerised by the sight, sitting across from Jack as he scoffs down hefty plate after plate in ecstasy, bragging about how he can afford a luxury vacation on a secluded planet, with an all you can eat buffet at their demand. It's their second anniversary. Rhys got Jack a personalised pair of cufflinks and earring, and Jack got them a trip far, far away.
Jack didn't expect Rhys to go all out, though. He's not swimming in fortune like him, but he means well, and Rhys' gift is just as much himself as it would be anything physical. That's all Jack really wants; Rhys, beside him, ready to do whatever he wants, whenever he wants.
And Rhys is absolutely okay with doing whatever Jack wants, especially now. Watching Jack lean back against his seat with the sunset haloing him like an angel's glow, he has the perfect view of Jack's bulbous, full belly stuffed full with various delicacies, straining the buttons on his flamboyant Hawaiian shirt. He'd enjoyed how a few at the bottom had popped open once his stomach began to expand. It's a tight shirt. Rhys picked it out especially.
He can't resist leaning over to run his fingers through Jack's thick happy trail. Jack's skin is rough, it tells a tale of who he is, and where he's been, and Rhys adores it. He flattens his palm over the exposed flesh and strokes it tenderly using his thumb. He can feel the thunderous growls coming from the depths of Jack's belly. They sound angry, and pained.
"You must be full by now?" Rhys remarks, a little humour rocking on the edge of his tone. A part of him knows he's not, and he's delighted by that. The other part of him knows Jack will keep going regardless. That's exciting too. It's a win win no matter what.
Jack just takes a deep, long breath and exhales through a laugh. He shifts his weight and arches his back to push out his belly a bit more. Rhys almost rips his lip off just by biting it, and Jack grins, all teeth on show like a shark.
"It's getting packed in here," he pats his belly, "but there's room. There's always room, especially with you here, kitten...my perfect, abiding personal little cheerleader." He moves his hand over to Rhys' and forces him to push down harder on his taut skin, coaxing a gurgle out of his belly. His eyes crease ever so slightly where the ache bubbles up in his gut, but he pushes through it. Rhys' eager expression is too enchanting to risk ruining.
It's fairly quiet where they are, currently situated in the outdoor area of a restaurant, with a picturesque view of the island on the planet. It's mostly greenery - trees towering over the land with tangled, vibrant vines hanging down snaking across the dusty path, and the sporadic variety of squawks flying by as indefinable creatures zoom past. Not many people visit this planet, Jack had checked, so it's perfect for the happy couple to be as carefree and affectionate as possible.
Which is why Jack ditched the layers and constricting clothes. There's no pressure to be perfect, no big wigs to showboat around and maintain a certain image for. It's just Rhys, and perfectly disposable staff or guests if needs be. Jack can wear ugly Hawaiian shirts and snug shorts with stretchy waistbands everywhere, no worries about it.
Jack glances around before quickly pulling Rhys' chair in closer. Rhys squeals, caught off when Jack leans forward and kisses him with urgency, his round belly pressing against his leg in the process. He tastes like greasy buffet food. BBQ sauce, salt, tomatoes, something sweet, pepper - it's like a fireworks show of culinary wonders inside his mouth! He can't help the desperate moan he lets loose when Jack accidentally belches in his mouth, unashamed but in fact, proud. His hands instinctively go to Jack's waist, and squeeze hard at the doughy love handles Jack supports.
"God," Jack grunts between kisses. "I swear I could just eat you up, princess. You're so freakin' perfect and needy. Bet you'd like that too, knowing you'd make me bigger." Jack pulls back to stare deep into Rhys' eyes. He looks evil, but flushed, like he himself is completely lost under a spell. "You'd be what makes me burst. God, I fucking love you, you're all mine."
"All yours," Rhys pants, leaning in to steal another desperate kiss. He pats at the table unknowingly then lands on something moist. He looks out the corner of his eye. It's a BBQ covered chicken leg, coated thoroughly in sauce. He takes it and in a quick switch, replaces his lips with the meat. Jack's mouth becomes covered in the dark sauce.
Rhys tries to resist laughing but can't help it when Jack's frowns. He goes to put the food back down but Jack grabs his wrist firmly. He guides it back toward his mouth and then slowly, keeping eye contact, takes a huge, vicious bite out of the leg. The soft meat tears easily from the bone, hanging between Jack's teeth, splashing more BBQ sauce down his chin and even over the dark hairs on his exposed chest. He chews like it's his last meal ever, savouring every flavour, every second, then swallows with an exaggerated gulp.
Rhys is frozen. He squeezes his legs together harder. His cock is hard as a rock, throbbing and begging for release in any capacity. He can't help but let out a pathetic whimper when Jack tosses the chicken leg down onto a plate.
"We're going upstairs, right now, and I'm going to fuck you lazily into the mattress. I'm going to press my full weight on top of your tiny, breakable body, and watch you squirm for my cock as I move at a snails pace, and then after I've cum but before you have, I'm going to make you grind against my gut until you've finished. Does that sound good?" He immediately lays a finger over Rhys' mouth before he can answer, smirking smugly. "It was a rhetorical question. You don't have a choice here."
Needless to say, Rhys was 100% happy with that plan.

Cheap Massive Cheat Day Cravings
In between prepping for Christmas hapag so that my lola won’t have to stand in her kitchen for more than 8 hours, my tita and I are kind of heading our Noche Buena kagulo which meant making sure that our family of about 50 or 60 would have a good time.
That said, I am revisiting the good food and the comfort food that might inspire me to come up with something edible and hopefully memorable for this Holiday bilang I am trying to be a scrooge no more. Hah. I even chanced upon a long skirt that has been with me since 16 years old earlier today. The maroon skirt I wore to my cousin’s debut matched perfectly with my blue cropped top and my white tie top, so in essence, I already have two options for our Noche Buena kung tama sa theme ‘yung outfits ko. Else, will use it na lang when we go to Tagaytay (pilit talaga natin ‘yang Tagaytay kahit hindi makatao ang traffic for sure) this holiday.
So, anyway, sharing the list of the cheap food that really makes me happy these days. I noticed that ever since I embarked on my mindful eating journey, ang dami ng natanggal sa cravings ko na swear to heavens, pati ako gulat. Iniisip ko nga noong una even up until now kung todo pigil with gigil lang ba ako pero no, mumsh. Happy ako sa food choices ko at God’s grace and God’s plan nga siguro ‘yan.
Make me eat like a tamagochi on a shoestring budget with these:
Isaw Baboy with Spicy Vinegar
Scramble (with extra milk powder; no choco or strawberry syrup)
Sweet Corn + Cheese Rings
Clover Bits (must be bits tapos akin lang buong lalagyan na tagpipiso)
Boy Bawang
Popcorn (Chef Tony’s and Kettle Korn)
Chichacorn (eto ang hindi ko talaga tinitigilan up until now; para talaga akong tamagoching ginutom ng 3 days; tapos usually magshe-share ako ng food; pero ito, mga once or twice lang ako magtatanong, tapos pag ayaw, kakainin ko talaga siya until maubos; deadliest craving ko ito to date)
Nagaraya (all flavors masaya kaso pagkatapos ang pimples ko may pa-jamboree, mumsh)
Burger Machine Sansrival (because ang weird niya since elementary, pero gusto ko pa rin siya)
Sweet Corn (apaw sa butter dapat)
Yakisoba Beef Pancit Canton (because masarap ‘yung noodle mismo, must add sriracha, sesame seeds and nori tho)
Jollibee Burger Steak
Jollibee Pancake Sandwich
Siomai (Siomai King Japanese Siomai, Nathaniel’s and Siomai sa Tisa sa Cebu. ‘Yung Siomai sa Tisa, jusko, hindi ko pa rin makalimutan lasa niyan until now and mamahalin ko sino mang maghandcarry ng Siomai Sa Tisa from Cebu to Manila. Mga 50 pieces, sapat na)
Sonyda/Potdog Fishball, Squidball, atbp finds (sauce is spicy oil na lang unlike before na sweet and spicy tapos may toyo and spicy oil)
Sonyda Fried Chicken and Pancit (pinatawid ako nito nung college days ko sa SM Manila ata and sa Rob Manila)
Takoyaki (very onti ng sweet sauce, maraming bonito flakes, maraming nori, may onting mayo, maraming spicy, and if may floss, damn girl, loveeet)
Japanese Pancakes (matcha, plain; actually, pancakes talaga masaya ako)
Cinnabon (I love cinnamon and soft dough. Again, one of the few sweets na love ko pa rin until now. Gets me most of the time.)
2go Bangus (may kanin na may unting tutong sa ilalim tapos maraming maanghang na sawsawan na may tiny bit toyo)
Chooks to Go Liempo (dapat yung fried pa. Hahaha. Syempre kanin ang laban.)
Tahong (kahit anong luto basta fresh, game na game na game. In Puerto, hindi nga ako masyadong nagkanin pero mga naka 2 kilos ako ng tahong on my first meal nung tour day namin. Jusko. Buti matibay tummy ko, though I took Diatabs na right after my meal para sure.)
I died.)
Pork Floss (Eng Bee Tin; 250 for mga 10 pieces ata. ‘Pag hindi ko ito binibili ‘pag nasa Binondo ako, dalawa lang yan: wala akong pera or nagskip ako ng craving)
New Po Heng Lumpia (still the best ever fresh lumpia; mataas ang calories ng non-vegan version pero kasi super sarap; tapos halos maubos ko na ‘yung isang boteng sauce)
Sincerity Chicken + Lumpiang Shanghai + Oyster Cake + Raddish Cake + Crab Fried Rice (kaya ‘pag nasa Binondo, kelangan may kasama ako na at least one kasi damn girl, sad ako ‘pag “incomplete” order; mura siya for at least 2 or 3 people; I really need to go to Binondo naaaaaaaa before the super Christmas rush.)
Puto Pao
Leche Flan Duck Egg (must be duck egg kasi mumsh, jusko, heavenly)
Pure Ube (because my lola’s version is the best; ang hirap mag-settle sa madadayang version na may extenders)
Alfajores (got this from my friend Gella, pinaglihian niya, so nagpauwi from Baguio; I got myself one and the rest is history)
Maty’s BBQ + Tapang Kabayo + Pancit Bihon (damnnn.
RBX (another panawid nung aking kabataan; mura pa rin until now; ‘pag may budget, Seafood na Super Spicy pero paontinaan ang toyo kasi ang alat masyado pag usual timpla; pag petsa de peligro yung ham and bacon ba yun, basta may ham or may bacon or both; super spicy rin)
Kenny Rogers Side Dishes (shiiiiitttt. sobrang saya ko ‘pag pumipili ng side dish everytime I go to Kenny. I can skip the chicken at times pero gusto ko iuwi lahat ng side dishes)
Kenny Rogers Corn Muffin (isang box of six is like heaven to me)
Bacon (enough said, may masarap na high-class bacon, pero wala akong paki, basta bacon is lifest)
Purefoods Bacon and Cheese Nuggets (I can finish one bag in one sitting in under 15 minutes.)
Longganisa (oweeeeem. Longganisa rouses the kanin queen in me.)
Saba Spicy Squid In Can (with vermicelli and kanin, kagulo na, sobrang cheap find na happy me)
Mackarel In Can Spicy (eto pa isa)
Daing Na Bangus (kahit sale pa yan or maarteng klase, shit man, give it meeeee)

Pamana Restaurant Continues Legacy in Quezon City
Whenever I have a vacation or roadtrip to Tagaytay, I never fail to visit Pamana Restaurant which has become an institution and landmark in that city. I really love their traditional heirloom recipes which have been handed down from previous generations (read about it here) and all put together in one restaurant by owner Happy Ongpauco-Tiu. When you have the Barrio Fiesta Group as your parents and family, you will definitely have so many good recipes and dishes to share, and that is what Happy has done with Pamana.
I was happy to find out that Pamana Restaurant now has a couple of branches in Metro Manila as well. Before we headed out for our unforgettable Isdaan Roadtrip (Read: Isdaan Floating Restaurant) last June, we gathered together for lunch at Pamana’s Quezon City branch at Mother Ignacia Avenue, just in front of the ABS-CBN studios. There are actually two restaurants here as another one of Happy’s restaurants, The Original Hawaiian BBQ, also occupies the same location.
Similar to their Tagaytay branch, Pamana Restaurant offers a timeless glance at the Ongpauco family’s rich history and tradition. Both of Happy’s parents worked in the showbiz industry, aside from operating the popular Barrio Fiesta and other notable restaurants. Heart Evangelista is Happy’s cousin, so there is no shortage of exciting stories and culinary experiences in the Ongpauco family.
We took our seats upstairs which had bigger and longer tables for family gatherings and foodie groups like us. We were going on a long road trip to Tarlac and Nueva Ecija in the afternoon so we needed all the energy we can get. Pamana Restaurant definitely answered our calls.
I was happy to see the Okoy Bites (P215) on the table because this is one appetizer I could not forget. This recipe was handed down from Tita Violy Reyes of Bahay Malabon, a close Ongpauco family friend. Okoy is a classic Filipino dish made with small shrimps mixed with flour, cornstarch and egg batter then deep fried until crispy. I have tried several versions before, but this is still the best Okoy for me. It has the perfect crispiness with a light shrimp flavor that would be great to nibble on any time of the day.
The Crispy Adobong Pusit Calamares (P305) is a new Pamana innovation. These Calamari fritters are coated in black squid ink sauce then deep fried to perfection. The calamari was crispy to the bite and the black sauce is not that overpowering.
One advantage of dining at Pamana’s Quezon City branch is that you can cross order from The Original Hawaiian BBQ without having to leave your seats. One of the bestsellers there is the Hawaiian Spam and Fries (P235) with its caramelized Spam and fries sauteed in onions and their special barbecue sauce.
Nueva Ecija is just around three hours away but it seems like we were going to be on the road for ten hours given what we were served at Pamana Restaurant. They offer Set Menus good for up to 10 persons ranging from P5,000 to P7,000 per set so we were able to try all of their specialties.
The Pancit Malabon is always a good merienda item but you can always have it for lunch as well. This pancit palabok is topped with various seafood ingredients which makes it stand out from the regular palabok.
One of my all-time favorites at Pamana Restaurant is their Chicken Binakol (P300). This is one of the classic Filipino dishes which is popular in the Visayas region. It has a delicious chicken broth using young coconut as its soup base. Think of it as a Tinola but with a sweeter coconut flavor. The chicken and vegetables were also cooked well as they absorbed most of the sweet coconut flavors. An extra pot of hot soup is also served on the side which you can use to fill up the coconut shell once the soup level runs low. I just love this dish!
Next we had the Sizzling Tadyang ng Baka with Bone Marrow Gravy (P415). The very tender beef ribs are highlighted further by the savoury gravy, all served on a sizzling stone plate.
Barrio Fiesta’s Pinakbet with Shrimp and Lechon Kawali (P295) is a Barrio Fiesta specialty served with a medley of vegetables cooked in their famous bagoong. Favorite dishes from the family’s other restaurants make their appearance at Pamana Restaurant and rightfully so.
Another classic that will always be a Filipino favorite is the Crispy Pata. Happy’s father, Rod Ongapuco, actually invented the Crispy Pata back in the 60′s at Barrio Fiesta so it’s great to have a taste of the Original Crispy Pata ni Rod (P630). Aside from the original version, you can also have it served Boneless (P650), or Maanghang at Mabawang (P645).
If you want all of the family’s specialties in one order, then ask for Mama Chit's Special (P850). Mama Chit is Happy’s grandmother and all her favorite fried dishes are presented here combined in one huge family-sized platter.
We thought we had finished everything, but we still had The Original Hawaiian Baby Back Ribs (P990) from The Original Hawaiian BBQ. These sumptuous barbecue ribs are roasted in their homemade sweet and tangy sauce then served Hawaiian style with pineapple and a choice of side dish including french fries, coleslaw, mashed potato, buttered corn and carrot.
Another monster serving is The Barbecue Platter (P940) which has a combination of meat and seafood barbecues such as shrimp, pork bbq, chicken, fish, pork belly and squid served with pineapple, mango and oranges. We were all so stuffed from all the delicious dishes presented, but we still had room for dessert.
I always order the Ginumis with Panucha Ice Cream (P130) at Pamana to finish my amazing meals. This is a shaved ice dessert similar to Halo Halo but with more emphasis on coconut milk. It is served with homemade panucha, or raw coconut sugar ice cream to complete this refreshing classic. Pamana Restaurant is always on the top of my list when I am looking for a hearty feel-good meal with friends and family. I was in Tagaytay two days after this visit and I could not resist dining at Pamana again. For me, Pamana Restaurant is not just a favorite, it’s tradition.
